"We welcome young, middle-aged and elders, families, couples and singles, all the colors, cultures, classes, genders and sexual orientations of the human race. We believe we are enriched by diversity and everyone's gifts are needed."
June and July services are more informal than services during the regular church year (August to May). These services are led by members and friends of Emerson Chapel and are fellowship oriented, with an emphasis on discussion of a particular spiritual theme. All are welcome to participate in a manner they feel comfortable. You may take part in the discussion or observe. We encourage you to do what feels right for you! Our minister, Rev. Krista Taves, returns to the Chapel in August. At that time we will resume our regular worship services. The Religious Education Hour for all ages resumes the Sunday after Labor Day.
During June and July 2009, Emerson Unitarian Universalist Chapel's Children and Youth Religious Education Program offers programs from 10:00 to 11:00 on Sunday mornings.
Child care (infant through toddler) is provided during service all year.
"Please join us for worship and fellowship. Religious Education programs for children are offered and child care is available. Visitors are always welcome."
Living Our Faith through Sharing Love: Each month we split our collection plate 50-50 with an outreach partner. This month's Outreach Partner is the Unitarian Universalist Military Handbook Project, which will publish a collection of liberal religious devotional and inspirational materials for Armed Services men and women in times of need. Additionally each month, we are collect food and other items for our area's pantry/shelter, Circle of Concern. In June, let's get back-to-school items to help send "our kids" back to school in style. And, remember, every Circle of Concern grocery bag to a needy family includes peanut butter and jelly, so these two items are always appreciated Leave your contributions in the wheelbarrow in our Vestibule. Please be generous as we Live Our Faith and Values and Minister to the World through our outreach partners. See our other partners in the left column.
Living Our Faith: Planning for Next Month July & August are dedicated to school supplies. Let's take advantage of sales over the summer to help children start up for school. Also, any food and personal care items are always welcome. And, remember, every Circle of Concern grocery bag to a needy family includes peanut butter and jelly, so these two items are always appreciated.
