A Month of Sundays & Celebrations

May 4 "Our Heretical History" The Rev. Krista Taves

Given how modern Unitarian Universalism feels, it's easy to forget that the Unitarian branch of our heritage is almost 400 years old. Four centuries ago Michael Servetus challenged the concept of the Trinity. What does mean to us now, in the context of what Unitarian Universalism has become in the 21st century?

Special Music: Camille Herman, Soprano

May 11 "Coming of Age and Bridging Service" The Rev. Krista Taves

In one of the most special services of the year, we will be honoring two groups of young people: Those entering high school (Coming of Age) and those graduating from high school (Bridging).

Special Music: Mike Collegeman, Viola

May 18 "Humanism and Paganism Under One Roof - Ours" The Rev. Krista Taves

A light-hearted service exploring our theological differences, and the values that hold us together.

Special Music: The Emerson Singers, Camille Herman, Director

May 25 "Peace in the Middle East: A Shared Commitment"

Judy Hoffman, from the Jewish Community Relations Council, will present a perspective from the Jewish community on human rights and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Special Music: Ron McGowan, Piano

June 1 "Flower Communion" The Rev. Krista Taves

In this special ritual established by European Unitarian Norbert Capek, we celebrate and honor the earth and our sacred connections to one another. You are welcomed and encouraged to bring flowers for this special intergenerational ceremony.

Special Music: Ron McGowan, Piano

We are splitting the plate in May with Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. HFHI seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.

Remember: We split our collection plate funds that are not specifically earmarked for Emerson 50-50 with our charity of the Month. Please be generous.
