Senior Youth Religious Education (Ninth- through 12th-graders)

On Sunday mornings, senior youth Religious Education focuses on curricula from “Tapestry of Faith.” For one Sunday each month, youth collaborate with Rev. Krista Taves, senior minister, in choosing the sermon topic, and a youth acts as liturgist that day. Moreover, each year, senior youth, in collaboration with the minister, create and present a worship service.

In addition to Sunday-morning Religious Education classes, Emerson Chapel has a Senior Youth Group. They enjoy social activities and participate in social-justice projects. Twice each year, they attend a conference, or CON, for Unitarian Universalist youth in the MidAmerica Region. It's a weekend of dancing, worship, social action, fellowship, and fun.
