What to Expect

What does it mean that your minister is on Sabbatical?

We Unitarian Universalists have a strong and long history of supporting not only our ministers but all our professional religious leaders every seventh year of service with a time of rest, renewal and refueling. Rev. Taves conducted a three-month long class for 13 of our members who stepped forward to lead sermons during her time of renewal. This was a time of critical reflection, and feedback as they presented their sermons to each other and to Rev. Taves. Read more about sabbatical.

Where do I park? How do I get to the Sanctuary?

As you turn into the driveway nearest the sanctuary, drive around back of the building (PDF), as that is where our largest parking lot is located. An aerial view (PDF) of our building with our entrance marked and parking lots visible.

Where will my children go?

If you have children, they may stay with you in the service. Or, they may decide to go with our children to children's chapel. And, if you have very young children who may not sit quietly more...


Will someone welcome me?

Once you enter the vestibule, you will be met by a member of our welcoming team. You will be invited to sign our guest book, given a name tag, and an order of service. Our welcoming team is available before and after the service to answer any questions you may have.


What will your service be like?

Our services follow a similar format from Sunday to Sunday. The service begins with the ringing of the bell and music. We light our chalice, the symbol of Unitarian Universalism. Learn more....
The service ends with a hymn and the extinguishing of the chalice. Coffee hour takes place immediately after the service in the Vestibule.
